Terms of Service
Last updated May 18, 2026
By using Meal Planner you agree to these terms. Meal Planner is an indie hobby project — a thin maintenance budget, an LLM with strong opinions about sambar, and a stubborn belief that "what's for dinner this week" shouldn't eat your Sunday. Last updated May 18, 2026.
What this site is
Meal Planner generates suggested weekly meal plans for Indian kitchens using an AI model. Plans are sharable via a link, comments are anonymous, and there are no accounts.
The site is provided free of charge as an experimental tool. There is no company behind it, no support contract, no SLA, no roadmap commitment, and no guarantee it will exist tomorrow.
AI-generated content
Meal plans, dish names, descriptions, prep times, and nutrition figures are produced or curated with the help of a large language model. The model will be wrong sometimes. It may call a dish vegan when it is not, invent recipes that do not exist, list calories that are off by a factor of two, or confidently misclassify a regional preparation.
Treat every generated plan as a starting point, not a recipe to be cooked blind. Read each dish before cooking and verify ingredients against your own needs.
Not professional advice
Nothing on Meal Planner is medical, nutritional, dietetic, or culinary advice. If you have a medical condition, an allergy, an intolerance, a religious requirement, or you are pregnant, talk to a qualified professional before changing what you eat. The site is not a substitute for that conversation.
Allergens and dietary flags
Vegan, vegetarian, Jain, egg-free, nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and similar labels are best-effort tags applied at the dish level. They can be incorrect, out of date, or misapplied by the AI when it composes a plan.
Always read the recipe end-to-end and verify ingredients against your own needs before cooking or serving. If a label looks wrong, use the contact form so we can fix it. We accept no responsibility for missed allergens, contamination, or any reaction caused by a generated plan.
Acceptable use
Don't scrape the site at volume, don't try to abuse the generation endpoint, don't post defamatory, infringing, or unlawful comments on shared plans. We rate-limit by IP, drop honeypot submissions, and may block IPs or remove content at any time without notice.
By submitting a comment on a shared plan, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the site. Shared plans are accessible to anyone with the link — do not put anything in a plan name or comment that you would not want public.
Third-party services
Meal Planner sends your plan inputs to OpenRouter, which routes the request to whichever model is currently configured (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or another). The site is hosted on Vercel, uses Vercel Postgres for storage, and Upstash / Vercel KV for rate-limit counters.
Those services have their own terms and may retain prompt data per their own policies. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their content, outages, pricing, or policy changes.
Availability
The site may go down, change shape, or be discontinued entirely at any time without notice. Saved share links may stop working. Plan IDs may be wiped if we ever reset the database. There is no guarantee that a plan you generated today will be retrievable in the future.
Intellectual property
The Meal Planner brand, design, and original written content are ours. Cuisine, dish, and recipe names are part of the public Indian culinary commons and are not claimed by anyone. Generated plans assemble those public names; the assembly is yours to use, share, and modify however you like.
Don't redistribute substantial parts of the site (catalog dumps, full plan-DB exports, etc.) without prior written permission.
Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or that the AI output is correct. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meal Planner and its operator will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, illness, injury, or any allergic or dietary reaction — arising out of or related to your use of the site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Your sole remedy if you are unhappy with anything on the site is to stop using it.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from any claim arising out of your use of the site, your content (plan names, comments, contact-form messages), or your breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
